The REVAL Health Care and Rehabilitation Research Centre incorporates scientific as well as consultancy based research of the Department of Health Care (Sciences) that includes physiotherapy, occupational therapy, nursing and obstetrics. Here scientific research focuses on the rehabilitation of neurodegenerative diseases. Hence, investigators try to explore the underlying biomedical and psychosocial mechanism explaining the positive impact of rehabilitation training in multiple sclerosis and other neuro-degenerative diseases. Consultancy based research includes pilot testing of possible new rehabilitation strategies and technologies and secondly the ergogenic potential of food and other supplements. In this respect REVAL has collaborated with several pharmaceutical companies such as AstraZeneca and Serono and has tested the rehabilitative potential of a wide variety of new therapeutic strategies for companies such as Kingfisher Healthcare, Spronken Orthopedics, SAMCON, Enraf-Nonius and Alpha Vibe Technologies.
